North Central 4-H Camp, is located in Carlisle, KY. on 350 acres of rolling hills and forested land near Lake Carnico. North Central serves 28 counties and can accommodate 358 campers and counselors in its heated cabins and bath houses plus 24 in the outpost for primitive camping. The camp offers a heated dining hall; shelter house; heated and cooled multipurpose building; restored, historic log cabin, country store for souvenirs and snacks and swimming pool with waterslide. Program facilities include rifle and archery ranges, bird blind for nature classes, observation bee hive, low and high ropes* challenge course, basketball, volleyball and athletic field. The six acre lake offers opportunities for fishing, canoeing, paddle boating, pond studies and hiking in nature classes. The shelter house and the lakeside campfire area are perfect for evening programs and special events.

*A High Ropes Course consisting of a zip line and climbing wall is also available to Extension and non-Extension groups. There must be 2 facilitators present. All participants under the age of 18 must have a permission slip signed by a parent or custodial guardian before using the course. See rate sheets below for more information.
