Kentucky 4-H believes that all youth should have opportunities for positive youth development in our four guiding concepts: mastery, belonging, independence, and generosity. This project fosters mastery by allowing youth to learn and demonstrate technical and operational skills related to lawn and farm tractors; Belonging by encouraging youth to work together with other youth and adults to develop safe machinery operation practices; Independence by teaching the skills necessary to inspect, trouble-shoot and safely operate lawn and farm equipment; and Generosity by promoting safe and proper operating practices to other youth and adults in their community.
