Fall Coach Certification Workshop       October 6 - 8, 2017

Description

This is a training session for volunteer coaches providing different shooting sports disciplines according to availability and interest. Successful Certification requires a minimum of 12 hours of instruction and range work plus the exam.  Materials and training are provided by nationally trained Shooting Sports Instructors. One discipline per workshop may be completed. It is available for both teens and adults:  a teen coach is 14 years of age and older; an adult coach is 18 years of age and older.

Objectives

To provide training and resources for shooting sports leaders to become qualified to teach junior and senior 4-Hers proper techniques and safety when using a firearm or bow using the National 4-H Shooting Sports Curriculum with positive youth development and safety as its foundation.

REGISTRATION FORM 

RSO training (Range Safety Officer) will be offered at this workshop with enough registrations (minimum of three participants). RSO is not available for first time participants.  Must be 21 years of age.

Participant Information Form   Required of all workshop participants, to be submitted with the paper copy of the registration form and registration fee.

Agent Responsibilities

To notify interested leaders and others of the training.

To submit registrations, money and information, help with transportation and promote full participation by those registered.

Additional Information

SHOTGUN and RIFLE and PISTOL PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING THEIR OWN AMMO and CLEANING KIT.

   Shotgun (2 boxes of whatever gauge they will be shooting)
   Rifle 22 (100 Rounds) No Hollow point ammunition permitted.

   Pistol  (100 rounds)

BLACK POWDER (MUZZELOADING) MUST BRING ALL SHOOTING SUPPLIES.

ARCHERY EQUIPMENT WILL BE PROVIDED.

RSO and Hunter Challenge - all materials will be provided. 

PISTOL - Adults may bring their own Air Pistol.  (TEENS ARE NOT TO BRING PISTOLS).  If you do not have a pistol, one will be provided for you to use in class.
