SC22 Final Scores Found HERE
Description
Kentucky 4-H believes that all youth should have opportunities for positive youth development in our four guiding concepts: mastery, belonging, independence, and generosity. The Kentucky 4-H State Shooting Sports Competition, held annually in September, is the culminating event for youth enrolled in a county 4-H Shooting Sports program.
The first day of competition (Saturday) is held at the Bluegrass Sportsmen’s League in Wilmore. Youth compete in all disciplines except shotgun on this day. The second day of competition (Sunday) is held at the Miller Welch - Central KY Wildlife Management Area in Berea. Youth compete in the discipline of shotgun on this day.
This event is designed to develop independence, promote safe and responsible shooting practices and provide a goal to work towards for youth involved within the program. Each day of competition ends with an awards ceremony recognizing both individuals and teams.

The following items are the minimum instructions a 4-H member must receive under the guidance of a certified 4-H Shooting Sports Coach each year in order to participate in the State 4-H Shooting Sports Competition. Counties may choose to add additional restrictions at their discretion. These criteria were developed to allow counties options for determining the suitability of their 4-H members' participation in shooting sports programs in a safe and informed manner during the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Must complete a general 4-H Shooting sports safety meeting (these can be online or in-person).
- Must complete five practice sessions under the guidance of a certified 4-H Shooting Sports Coach.
