Overview

Kentucky 4-H believes that all youth should have opportunities for positive youth development in our four guiding concepts:  mastery, belonging, independence, and generosity.  This project fosters mastery by allowing Kentucky 4-H members to learn the parts of a bicycle, bike safety, how to ride a bike, and planning a bike trip; Belonging by learning about bicycles and bicycle safety in classrooms, clubs, project groups, at health fairs, and bike rodeos; Independence by utilizing bicycles as healthy transportation resources; and Generosity by giving back to their community through learning skills in safety and inspection to allow them to help others ride safely.  Contact your county extension office for more information (link).
