School Field Trips

The camp experience is not limited to our summer guests. West Kentucky 4-H Camp offers place-based educational opportunities that are aligned with national standards and customized to fit your programmatic needs. Our learner-centered programs aim make important connections to concepts learned in the classroom.

Program Offerings

Fall

Forest Ecology

Search for forest life in the trees, in the soil, and under logs. Develop insight to the value of the forest as a diverse habitat and natural resource.

Farm to Fork

Discover the importance of agriculture as we explore how some of our favorite foods are made! Students collaborate to make pizza from scratch while learning where each ingredient comes from.

High Ropes Adventure

Our experienced facilitators will guide your students through an exhilarating and empowering experience 45 feet off the ground. Maneuver four aerial challenges or our rock wall to get to the 300 foot zip line.

Winter

Sugaring Time

Investigate the science and wonder of maple sugaring. Students will follow the process from tapping to tasting as they tap, collect, and visit the evaporator.

Back Country Adventures

We don't let the winter weather keep us inside. Practice shelter building, firebuilding, and more while enjoying a winter day at camp.

Spring

Embryology

Investigate what is happening as our flock of chickens awakens to spring's warmer days.

Pond Life

Explore pond and forest ecosystems by investigating insect and amphibian life cycles. Discover how creatures adapt to eating, moving, and surviving in their habitats.
